OMGee! Magazine was established by a 17-year-old high school graduate in the summer of 2007. The idea came about when its owner, Tita Vizcarra, became involved in the beauty and fashion industry. She served as makeup artist, and occasional wardrobe stylist, for elite casinos and photographers. Soon after her impressive success at such a young age her services and knowledge were in high demand in the city.
In July of 2007, Tita decided to combine her skills and passion for writing and created an online magazine that would be informative, chic, free, and fun for teen girls and women of all ages. The first digital issue of OMGee! was published on a free website host and instead of a digital flip it was added article by article on page by page. Still, the online glossy included access to fashion trends, industry beauty secrets, and backstage videos of the magazines first shoots. A couple years down the road OMGee! released its own fashion dispatch for emerging daily fashion news and enter the new look of OMGee! A more grown-up, but youthful, rebellion-type fashion twist.
What first started out as a teen magazine with colorful pages of inspiration, turned out to be something completely different than what it was originally intended. For starters, OMGee! shed the teen vibe and went for something with a little bit of an attitude. OMGee! wanted to represent the 21st century woman: a rebellious, classy, confident, educated, free spirited and sassy girl. Secondly, not only is OMGee! the first online magazine in Las Vegas, but it turned out to be the first fashion-focused magazine in the entire city -a massive responsibility. Lastly, fast forward to 2011 and OMGee! is the poster child for the fashion scene in the Las Vegas. Around the globe, OMGee! has become one of the most informative fashion online outlets in the fashion scene. OMGee! soon blossomed into two types of media in one: a magazine and a fashion news outlet.
With a growing number of readers in both the online magazine and news site, you can expect plenty more success and surprises. OMGee! to continues to be operated by a small staff of fashion aficionados. At OMGee! we believe that dreams do come true – a 17-year-olds’ dreams sure did. Therefore, our dream is to see our digital magazine on newsstands in a store near you. Wink, wink publishing houses.
